Weird jared Profoundly Presents the
1975 Cartoon of the Month Calendar ☜

Calendars are one of my favorite types of ephemera to rescue—the ultimate example of something meant to be used up, then usually discarded or lost to time. I especially love calendars from the 1970s, when artists were often just as inventive with the monthly grid layouts as they were with the big splashy illustrations. In this case, the grids completely steal the show. They’re packed with clever little comics and visual puns, so much so that I’ve opted to skip the less interesting “hero” images altogether and focus solely on the months themselves. Written and illustrated by Jared D. Lee. Published by Buzza/Gibson Greeting Cards, Inc., 1974.
